Where Sustainability Matters, Stick with TensorGrip

From joinery to construction, all sectors of industry must play their role in combating climate change - and that includes adhesive manufacturers. With the arrival of the COP26 climate conference and greater urgency around embracing sustainability, TensorGrip Joinery is affirming its commitment to a cleaner industry for everyone.

Whilst the climate crisis demands immediate action from heavy industry, an onus equally lies upon adhesive engineers to formulate solutions that are less detrimental to the health of our planet. As a brand of Quin Global, we’re pioneering research and development to lessen our impact on the natural world.

TensorGrip: A Sustainable Way to Stick

We’re committed to playing a small yet important role in facilitating a cleaner, more sustainable adhesive industry. Here’s just a few reasons how we’re using adhesive know-how to champion more sustainable ways of sticking:

  • Toluene-free options: Whilst the chronic and acute effects of toluene on birds and land animals have yet to be determined, the compound has been confirmed to cause membrane damage to the leaves in plants. With these environmental effects in-mind, the engineers at TensorGrip are working hard behind the scenes to offer even more adhesives that are 100% free from toluene.
  • Dichloromethane-free options: This compound is recognised as a greenhouse gas which contributes to the increased greenhouse gas effect and its implications, including climate change and rising sea levels. The experts at Quin Global continue to innovate in regards to offering more products that are 100% chlorine free.
  • Less Volatile Organic Compounds: Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are known to play a significant role in the formation of ozone and fine particulates in the earth’s atmosphere. Indeed, under sunlight, VOCs react with nitrogen oxides emitted mainly from vehicles, power plants and industrial activities to form ozone, which in turn helps the formation of fine particulates. With these effects in-mind, we’re striving to use fewer VOCs in our adhesives than ever.
  • Less PPE Requirements: Working with hazardous chemicals is reliant upon a steady supply of PPE, many of which are made from plastics and other unrecyclable materials. Thanks to our cleaner approach to adhesives engineering, users typically require less PPE which lessens the demand for these environmentally harmful materials.
  • Embracing Circular Economics: Moving joinery towards a more circular economy will play a significant role in meeting climate targets. The efficiency and longevity of our solutions require reduced energy consumption, whilst being compatible with virtually all established recycling processes.
