Environmental factors such as temperature and humidity can have enormous effects on how well your TensorGrip adhesives perform. This is important to remember as the temperatures begin to drop and winter sets in.
You can easily control how greatly your canister adhesives are affected by these environmental factors with just a few easy steps.
For best performance please remember to:
- Store your adhesive canisters in a sheltered location.
- Never leave your canisters sitting on a cold floor.
- Shake the canister well before use.
- If you live in an aera affected by extreme temperatures, use a heater belt or heated room to regulate the canister temperature.
There are several tell-tale signs that your adhesive is too cold. If you aren’t storing your adhesives in a heated environment, it’s essential that you lookout for the following:
- Spray pattern is inconsistent.
- Adhesive is ‘spitting’ out.
- Flash off times are longer than usual.
- “Foaming” is occurring in the adhesive solution.
- Thickening occurs in the solution.
- Solution has changed in general appearance.
Freezing temperatures can also affect you gun and hose, please check your gun and hose on a regular basis for leakage and damage.
If you have no choice but to store your canister in colder conditions, you can raise the temperature of your adhesive by placing it in a bucket of warm water for 15 minutes before use.
