Promoting Safer and Non-Flammable Adhesive Technology

You may be surprised at what environments are at risk of fire.

When I started to investigate the environments that were most at high risk of fire I was genuinely quite surprised and found the research very eye-opening! There are many environments that can be classified as being at high risk of fire. I found that restaurants and take-away shops ranked very high as kitchens typically have an abundance of ignition materials such as cooking oils and electrical equipment.  Rental properties such as flats and complexes also ranked high environment as these buildings usually host a large volume of people, all owning a few electrical items each such as hair dryers, hot irons and hair straighteners. As you can see there are huge variances when it comes to what is classified as high risk and some may seem normal, others are genuinely quite surprising. That’s why when it comes to fire you are always safer being over cautious and using the correct procedures to ensure your safety and the safety of others.

Safety first, then comes the burgers.

It’s important to be safe when using fire and taking preventative measures to ensure against one in your home.

I am a huge advocate of using fire safely for the enjoyment of family and friends. One of my favourite pastimes is a good ol’ summer barbecue. For me, I like the authentic barbecue by the beach. The sound of the waves crashing down on the beach, a subtle rush from the wind, and most of all coming out the sea to follow a familiar whiff of steak and burgers fresh off the grill to warm me up! Calories aside, a perfect barbecue dessert for anyone with a sweet tooth would be to buy a bunch of bananas, slit them three-quarters of the way through, keep the edible part of the banana as it is, and break up a bar of your favourite chocolate. Insert the pieces into each banana, wrap in foil, leave until the banana is soft and the chocolate is melted, and you’re done! So, you see there can be ways of enjoying fire, without putting yourself or others at risk. Safety first always!

ZeroFlam it’s a Quin thing.

You may be wondering how our adhesives are linked with Fire and Flammable products? ZeroFlam is a name we have given to label our Non-Flammable adhesive technology from a user perspective, here at Quin. Our team have established an adhesive range that is safe for industrial environments that could be exposed to a list of flammable risks. We take the risks of fire very seriously and have developed products known as; L10N, L16N and L26N that are suitable to use for joinery applications. Many adhesives on the market are loosely described as a non-flammable product due to the fact that once the adhesive has been sprayed and flashed off, it will not support combustion, which is certainly true of TensorGrip products too. However, the difference with the ZeroFlam products is that the whole packaged product is completely Non-Flammable from the user perspective. That is the adhesive itself, solvents and gasses. This refers to the gas vapour which will not ignite from a spark. This package ensures that when working in workshops or areas of ignition risk or onsite projects, TensorGrip ZeroFlam products pose low risk of assisting a fire. These products display a large green diamond on the packaging for easy visibility of its status.

Final Thoughts.

When it comes to environments that are at high risk of fire, there are too many to delve into them all today. What we do know is that if you take the proper safety precautions then the risk of these environments will be dramatically reduced. Very like a BBQ if you use the correct substrates for burning and don’t set it up next to any flammable substances your BBQ should have a happy ending. Our ZeroFlam products give you that reassurance, where you know that the whole package is non-flammable it takes that worry away and leaves you with an environment that is safe.

Interested in finding out more about our ZeroFlam range then why not come along to our stand K505 at W18 and chat to one of our sales colleagues on how we can help.

We look forward to seeing you all there.
