Issues with Vinyl? We have the Solution!

Issues with Vinyl? Look no further for the Solution.

When you think of transportation what is the first thing that comes to mind? For me it’s freedom, that ability to go anywhere you wish without constraint, that moment when you decide you want to visit a friend in South America and there is every type of transport you can think of to help you get there. Innovation is another as it’s down to the latest technological innovations that these are now available and you are not drifting across the Pacific Ocean on a raft in the hope you may get there eventually! In today’s blog we are going to look at technological innovations in transport. We will also look at how new discoveries have given rise to the expectation of high standards throughout the transportation market. We will then go on to talk about our solution to one of the main issues facing the transportation market today.

Transport and new discoveries

The history of transport is largely one of technological innovation. Advances in technology have allowed people to travel further and explore many different countries. Even in ancient times, new tools such as foot coverings, skis, and snowshoes lengthened the distances that could be travelled. As new inventions and discoveries were applied to transport problems, travel time decreased while the ability to move more and larger loads increased. Innovation continues as transport researchers are working to find new ways to reduce costs and increase transport efficiency.

High Standards

The way we travel has also evolved over time, moving from just the human foot to road, rail and water. With this evolvement there has been major improvements in what we travel in such as cars, boats and trains and even caravans and the luxury that is now expected as part of the design.

With these increased standards and technological innovations, you expect the interior of your vehicle to remain of a high quality throughout the years.  However, one of the main issue for the transportation market is with vinyl, more specifically the plasticisers in the vinyl, which when used with the wrong adhesive, causes it to bubble.

The reason this happens is the vinyl has been injected with chemicals to make it flexible and this leaches out when it reaches certain temperatures.

However, as a solution to this problem one of our products Tensorgrip T30 is resistant to these effects.

Benefits

Gregg Rhodes our Business Manager for the Silo of Transportation talks us through what the benefits of Tensorgrip T30 are in our video below.

The benefits of this are, T30 is a revolutionary high performance, plasticiser resistant polyurethane adhesive, specially formulated for bonding vinyl, rubber and plastics. It can be used for areas on vinyl and other highly plasticised flooring and fabric applications that are prone to failing in the Transportation industry.

The main advantages are:

  • Bonds vinyl permanently
  • Very Hi-Temp Resistance - 169°C
  • Excellent plasticiser resistance
  • Strong 1 or 2 sided bonds
  • High output for fast application
  • Resists weathering, water, fuel, oil and many other plasticisers
  • Bonds to damp surfaces

What could be better than never having to worry about the interior of your vehicles wherever you go? Whether you are in Aziziyah, Libya or the Antarctic using our adhesives you will never need to worry about your vinyl bubbling again. So where next for the innovation in transport? Who knows we might be taking our holidays to the moon or sunbathing on Venus and getting there will be just like catching the bus to Asdas.  Whatever the future holds, I’m sure it will be innovative and keep the freedom that we all like alive, just in a more spectacular way than perhaps we are used to!
