Guest blog: Samuel at Interzum

Guest blogger - Samuel Jamieson UK & EMEIA Head of Strategy, Sales and Marketing

This was Quin Global first attendance at the Interzum show in Germany which lasted 4 days, however, here at Quin we had been preparing for it for close to a year.

The preparation for the show on a business level was something we had never encountered before. It included booking our place, budgeting for the show, preparing flights, travel and accommodation.  There was a huge amount of project planning that went into the successful running of the stand and included looking at what materials and products we would need. Logistics was another item agenda that needed to be considered as we were sending pallets and the stand across to Germany so looking into the freight of these internationally.

We also had to organise what staff were attending and with this being an international show we decided to invite two of our key distributors who are based in Europe to attend with us, there were Belu and Extrem.

With our stand being our showcase and vitally important to our strategy at Interzum there was a lot of planning and preparation put into this to ensure it achieved the wow factor we were looking for….. and it did!

Day 1 was finishing off the set up of the stand, this included the setup of the displays and finishing off any other business. It also gave us a day to discuss our strategy and the results we were looking for with our distributors and wider team.

The following days were professional, engaging, educational and really importantly fun.  We met existing distributors and engaged with new opportunities from all corners of the globe.  Part of the stand setup was two display areas which always drew a crowd in to see our products and spray technicians in action (some of them are proper showmen J).

The days were filled with conversations, meetings and displays.  There was a real need from our existing distributors and new prospects for the knowledge and know how in bonding and adhesive.

With it being an international show, having a multilingual employee and our European based key distributors with us really helped greatly in engaging through conversation.

The show was a massive success for us which we will still be executing the follow up for the months ahead.

From a business point of view it was invaluable, from a knees point of view with all the walking, it was painful… but worth it!
