In the United States, the format & content of Tensor's product labels & safety data sheets (SDSs) are being updated in support of our commitment to updated Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Hazard Communication Standard (HAZCOM) and the adoption of the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).
You may have already seen changes in the labels this year. Yesterday, June 1, 2015 was to deadline for us to have our labels & SDSs completed in the new OSHA GHS format.
The remainder of the Timeline is as follows:
- December 1, 2015 - Customers and distributors may ship containers without GHS labels until this date.
- June 1, 2016 - Workplace labelling and accompanying hazard communication programs must be updated and employees must be trained on any newly identified physical or health hazards.
Quin Global is committed to upholding the UN GHS & OSHA in their efforts to develop an international common approach to the classification and labeling of chemicals (and adhesives). It actually simplifies our global branding!
