CHELMER AND GEKKO - A RECIPE FOR SPEED SUCCESS
Who are Chelmer and what do they do? Meet Carl Harper who is the Operations Director at Chelmer Group.
Carl Harper of Chelmer Flooring which serves clients throughout the UK and Europe needed a solution for a Miliken, a carpet tile installation at a recent fit out at AXA in Glasgow. He got in touch with Gekko as he knew they would be able to help solve his adhesive problem.
What was the problem that needed solved?
Faced with a limited timescale to complete the job, as well as being restricted by other trades, he needed a tackifier which would be quick to apply, fast to tack off and non-flammable.
How did Gekko solve the problem?
Carl contacted Gekko with this requirement, and the answer was G67, Gekko's sprayable water based tackifier which is 80% quicker than other products and is produced in a canister and dispensed via a wand gun to make it easy to use.
So what was the benefit to Carl and why did it matter? It was ideal for large areas such as this 4000 m² installation, Gekko G67 adhesive makes the installation extremely fast and efficient. With a number of operatives on the job, Carl could ensure that his men wouldn't have to hang around waiting for the tackifier to dry off. Tiles can be laid into G67 whilst it is still wet and still give a releasable bond later on, therefore saving time for his fitters.
Chelmer's fitters commented that G67 was "easy to use, better grab and stronger than other tackifiers. And the coverage was consistent and covered the right square meterage as what was stated on the tin". A very happy and satisfied team!
What was the result?
Carl added "Using G67 meant that we could get the job done on time and safely, and give our customer the service they wanted from us. I find that Gekko are easy to deal with, technically minded and give excellent back up. We will definitely be using this product again".
Another satisfied customer using a proven adhesive which improves productivity safely.
