We all know by now that doing things that are healthier for us, whether that’s avoiding the extra donuts at work or getting up at 5am to go for a long run, is something we all should all be striving for. Whether it be for physical or emotional reasons, the benefits of looking after yourself in the long run are many from living longer to having more energy and confidence. However, sometimes that extra donut just looks too tempting to resist, even just talking about it now is making my mouth drool! With more and more attention been paid to healthier alternatives not only in the food and drink industry but in the construction industry as well. Our healthier adhesives range is a perfect fit. In today’s blog we are going to talk about why is low risk so important, what are the benefits and why should we care?

Why is low risk so important?

Part of our values is to care and value others, and as such, we want to promote a healthier adhesive to products that contain dichloromethane. With the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) now checking up on the safety of workshops more frequently there has been more of a demand for products that are a healthier alternative.

All our healthier adhesives are developed to pose the lowest possible hazards to your health. This means the risk phrases we need to display on the canisters are as low as possible, as is the Volatile Organic Content (VOC) which is especially important for parts of Europe. Non- chlorinated adhesives also void the need of phrases like H351 which states suspected of causing cancer.

What are the benefits?

We don’t want to promote an adhesive when we can give you an adhesive that has the same benefits and gives you the same results but is the healthier choice.

Our adhesives that are in our low VOC Range are L20, L19 and L22.

Why do we care about low risk?

Why is all of this so important? Gregg Rhodes one of our Business Development Managers (BDMs) said, ‘Promoting healthier adhesives is important to us as the lives of our customers are important to us. Giving our customers the option of a lower risk product that works and provides the same results for our customers, is always going to central to our business as its part of our values to care and value others.’ 

Our range of low VOC adhesives are quick to use in comparison to our competitors which can take up to 25 minutes for the solvent to evaporate. The benefit is even though they are non- chlorinated they are also high performance therefore customers see no drop-in performance.

Final Thoughts

As you can see there are many benefits of moving across to healthier alternatives. Those few changes can make a big difference to your mental and physical wellbeing. As this is not a lifestyle blog we are not pressurising you into any crazy hikes up Ben Nevis anytime soon! However, we do recommend switching to our healthier adhesives, with so many benefits, why wouldn’t you want to?
