Adhesives have a long history dating back 70,000 years when cavemen learned that a gluey substance made of tree-sap worked as a rudimentary adhesive. Fast forward to the adhesives industry today. Currently, the U.S. demand for adhesives and sealants is forecast to increase 2.8% per year to $12.8 billion by 2019, as reported by PCIMag.com.
This impressive growth is a result of the increasing importance adhesive products play within industries such as marine, construction, woodworking joinery, as well as foam and upholstery, HVAC and insulation, oil and gas, and aerospace.

Q. What challenges does Quin Global need to overcome to devise better, more efficient ways of delivering state-of-the-art, high-performance industrial adhesives in the upcoming 2017?
A. I have three answers to this question.
Machinery
In our canister adhesive production facility here in the US, we are constantly building and updating our own production machinery. The method of production is what enables us to produce unique products in a very efficient manner. Cost-effective manufacturing is a long-term commitment for us locally and globally – this contributes to employees’ health and well-being, as well as producing reliable, quality product for our customers.
Research
New products are often developed in response to a customer’s need. This creates some challenges of its own. Assuming they are looking for a contact adhesive or pressure sensitive adhesive [PSA] such as our TensorGrip® adhesives, we can generally devise a canister or aerosol adhesive that meets their needs.
Innovation at Quin Global doesn’t begin until a relationship has been initiated with customers and questions are addressed. Our experts want to understand how we can support the needs of the customer. For example, we ask questions such as what open time do they need and what is the end strength they are looking for. Additionally, it’s important to understand customer’s special demands, such as plasticizer resistance or high heat. Sometimes getting the answers can a bit tricky, but in the end, the result includes saving time and money. Knowledge is power!
People
We are always raising the bar when it comes to our innovative products. Producing a one-of-a-kind adhesive that meets a customers’ need takes a certain skill set. Our Adhesive Experts have a good mix of technical product and raw material knowledge, as well as customized training. At the culmination of this process, the result is always an adhesive solution that gives the customer a superior bond while saving them time, money and hassle.
Combining Quin’s state-of-the-art machinery, research abilities, and a knowledgeable team continues to drive our innovation further. We consider it another resounding victory thanks to our most popular product, Tensorgrip canister adhesives!
